General Instructor Training

Course Goal:
This course will provide the information necessary to competently research, plan, prepare, present and evaluate a block of instruction in accordance with the systems approach.

Course Objectives:
  • Teach an 80 minute block of instruction.
  • Develop a lesson plan for the 80 minute block of instruction.
  • Construct a test appropriate to the 80 minute block of instruction.
  • Complete a written examination.
Requirements:
  • Submit an Applicant Worksheet 30 days prior to the class.
  • Submit an Agreement for Enrollment 30 days prior to the class.
  • Read the G.I School Rules and Information Sheet to ensure that the applicant meets the qualifications   (4+ years of law enforcement experience, Microsoft Word & PowerPoint knowledge, etc.) necessary to enter in the class.
  • Click the Reserve Seat link below and complete the online form.  Limited space is available.
  • Complete the Continuing Education Registration Form.
Note: Student is required to bring notebook on the first day of class. Notebooks may be purchased at the NCJA Bookstore: (910)525-4151. Also, students will need to bring a laptop to class each day.

Note: Out of professional courtesy to others, if you register for a class and cannot attend, please let me know as soon as possible. We can then offer those on the stand-by list an opportunity to attend the class.
